What is SLA?
<aside>
💡 SLA (stereolithography) is a form of 3D printing that cures a viscous liquid resin using UV light to create an object. SLA typically takes longer than FDM but is more precise in its printing.

⚠️ Please read before proceeding
</aside>
- GLOVES! Make sure to wear gloves whenever you are handling with resin or isopropyl alcohol. The resin is irritating to the skin and lungs and may cause contact dermatitis if not handled properly!
- If resin gets into the eyes rinse immediately in the eyewash station
- Make sure to clean off tools with isopropyl alcohol after use
- No isopropyl alcohol near the sink! It is considered hazardous waste and can severely damage the water and ecosystem
Maintenance and Things to Keep in Mind
- Make sure to wear gloves whenever dealing with SLA and isopropyl alcohol
- CLEAN the build plate of the FormLabs after every print - scrape the residue resin into the resin tank
- For cleaning the build plate, use isopropyl alcohol to help remove the print from the plate and use isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel to clean off the rest of the resin on the plate
