Stand-Alone Tools
Drill Press
- Make sure to tuck or remove any hoodie strings, or loose clothing when operating the machine.
- Please only drill reasonable materials in the makerspace.
- Using the chuck tool (located on the right of the drill press), remove the existing bit by placing the tool into one of the cavities on the chuck, twisting counterclockwise to loosen, and releasing the bit. Hold the bit while loosening to make sure it does not fall.
- Place your bit selection and tighten using same principle.
- Properly align and clamp the object you are drilling to the bed.
- Switch the drill press on, allowing it to get to speed before proceeding.
- With hands away from the spinning drill, slowly lower the lever until desired depth.
- Slowly release the lever and unclamp your object.
Arbor Press
- Place the object(s) you want to press on the anvil.
- Bring the handle towards you with force to bring down the press (be cautious as to not pinch your hand when pressing down).
- Push the handle back when ready to release the press.
Belt Sander
- Make sure to tuck or remove any hoodie strings, or loose clothing when operating the machine.
- Move nearby object from belt sander.
