The software build studio is a learning community. While some of the skills and qualities listed for each role are more important for a successful candidate coming into the role than others, none of the skills listed are hard and fast requirements. The website vision team is the only team in the software build studio engineering solutions to better the outlook of Generate as an organization. The team is redesigning the Generate website from scratch, and functions analogous to a Build Studio Product team, with the Outreach Director as their "client". The internal website is a mission critical project for Generate as an organization.
Product teams have full autonomy while prototyping, but are expected to maintain a client-centric mindset. You will work on a team of engineers and designers to further the products of Northeastern University-affiliated businesses. (3-4 per semester) Past projects have included both front-end and back-end engineering for apps, websites and more!
The number of engineers per product team is largely dependent on the scope of the projects, but ideally there are somewhere between four and six engineers, and two to three designers on each team. Below is a sample hierarchy for a given product team.
