How to Print

Follow the steps below to get printing on the Prusas!

  1. Download Prusa Slicer (Available for Mac, Windows, Linux)
  2. Open the app and pick the type of printer you are going to use — in this, case we will be using the Original Prusa i3 MK3. When prompted for the settings make sure to choose 0.4mm as the nozzle diameter

  1. Click the add object button and add the object you want to print (best to select a downloaded STL file for your 3D print)

  1. Once your STL is added to the canvas select the amount of supports you would like to add to your print
  2. Select the infill — infill refers to density of the internal structure of the object (20%+ infill will make your object heavier and stronger while lower infills will make your object lighter and less sturdy; DO NOT go below 10% infill)
  3. After you finished all these steps, select “Slice Now”!

  1. You will then be given “Slicer Info” that indicates how long the printer will take, how much filament will be used, etc.

  1. Take an SD card and plug it into your computer
  2. Click “Export G-Code” and save it onto the SD card or flashdrive
